Wienerwald in Munich

The promoted promotions are NOT recommended. Picked up half a duck with red cabbage and potato dumplings today. The dumplings were badly warmed up and totally dried up inside. The sauce, if you can call it that, was light and just plain fat and not even runny. And without any taste. The red cabbage was ok. The duck was also badly warmed up, the skin very soft and oily. Inside the duck was also rather dry. All in all for just under € 20 an absolute disappointment. We also got a hunter's schnitzel. The schnitzel itself was a bit dry but ok. The sauce had separated completely and tasted like absolutely nothing. The badly warmed-up spaetzle didn't taste particularly good either, but instead they swam in butter ... All in all, a lot of the food unfortunately went straight to the trash.

Everything is excellent but the family combo of chicken and other delicious accompaniments.

Fetched half a duck with dumplings, red cabbage and sauce today. Unfortunately not to be recommended, unless you only take the duck. I get something to eat there more often and have always been satisfied. But today I regret it. The dumplings tasted like nothing. They lacked the salt. But the sauce, I don't know what it was, but unfortunately it wasn't a duck sauce. She ruined all of the food. I know it differently from other branches. I have always been very satisfied but that I let myself be carried away, I found very disappointing in retrospect. The duck itself is perfectly fine. A little dry because it was ready 2 hours when I took it with me. Service is always very friendly. I am really very disappointed with the meal today.

My favourite place to eat a grill or fried chicken. Nice service and for sure the best chicken.

Service very slow but friendly. Nuggets, chicken and french fries were delicious, only the schnitzel in chanterelle sauce and spaetzle was not a hit. You could look for chanterelles, spaetzle salty.

Were to eat on site, very good staff, very friendly, helpful and competent. Our food was delicious, flavorful and warm. We can recommend it with a clear conscience.

Half chicken with potato salad the classics and always super delicious, great value for money, nice ambience inside the restaurant, super friendly staff and what else to say, it just fits and should not be missed during a visit to Munich. Looking forward to my next visit to the Vienna Woods 🤗👍

Pleasant place, good food, affordable prices.

The quality and speed of the service is good. They somehow communicate in English which is OK. They don't have Paulaner beer but Lewanbrou. I might miswrite the names, I'm not German 😅

Great quick late night meal! The Schnitzel Burger was incredible.

Conveniently located classic, slightly smaller "Wienerwald" restaurant at the crossroads Leonrodplatz, next to two tram stops. The ordered lunch menu "chicken drumstick" with fries and salad was delicious, as well as very delicious dessert "pancakes with nougat". Together with a 0,5l Afri Cola you pay 16,70 Euro. The service was attentive, and nice!

Really bad and much too expensive for the quality. Had Jägerschnitzel with cream mushroom sauce. See image. Did not know until now the hamburger schnitzel are breaded. The spaetzle was ready Spätzle, the sauce was some finished sauce. The ambience is also grubby and absolutely not comfortable. See pictures. And call for such prices ... Edit: Habs tested again today. Had Munich Schnitzel with fried potatoes. See pictures. Okay ambience not dingy. I do not like it, but I'm perched outside today, that's okay.

Food was not good enough and the service was slow and actually nobody cares about the guests.

We were looking for a place to eat after arriving in Munich kinda late. Food was good and inexpensive; a great change from the other places we've eaten at.

The lady at the front was nice.. but the server was very rude. I spent 9 euro on some shnitzel and ordered it at the take out counter. I did not know the I had to go into the dining area and order to sit down and eat. I brought my food after buying it takeout, and the server told me I had to leave with my food after the front desk lady said I could stay. I had to eat outside in the cold rainy weather.

I like their Handl. (roasted chicken). I usually take it away it coast euro 4.90. I find it very convenient to get a ready to eat chicken at any time. note that on Tuesday's night it's a little cheaper. Euro 3.90

I liked the chicken however, the quality / price is very low... too expensive!

Excellent fried chicken and fries, friendly and helpful staff

on Tuesdays chicken only cost 3.95 euros. (half a chicken) great for 2. We just make a salad to go with it, it is made our dinner. What I like about it, is that you can come at any time in the evening and there will always be a chicken ready.
